River Teifi, Source to Sea:

A Wayfaring pilgrimage to the Do Lectures

In 2016, as part of the charity I had created (The British Pilgrimage Trust), I was invited to speak at the famous Do Lectures.

So I looked at the maps, and formed a plan. The venue was at Cardigan, at the mouth of the River Teifi. What better route than to follow the river from Source to Sea, and so arrive at the venue?

And, I promised a trusting Guy, we could write the speech as we walked.

We slept in bothies and empty churches, and sang in caves, forests, pubs and cafes. We met a man who had crossed the Channel in a coracle (with a fag in his mouth the whole way), and another man who had invented the semi-tone lever on harps.

I had a Welsh song I was given many years earlier, about multi-coloured goats (oes gavr eto), which became the song of the journey. And then, we arrived.
